ARBE Research Awards

The ARBE awards program seeks to recognize research that promotes and contributes to the advancement in in Business Education. Awards nominations are due by October 15 and are presented during the NBEA Convention each spring in the following categories: 

Doctoral Dissertation Award

ARBE requests nominations for doctoral dissertations and seminal studies related to business education. Research completed during 2017 will be submitted and reviewed in 2018 and awarded at the 2019 Business Education Research Conference (BERC), which is held in conjunction with the National Business Education Association Convention. Independent Research Award

ARBE requests nominations for independent research published in 2017. The deadline for receipt is October 15, 2018, for 2019 award review.

National Leadership Award


The purpose of the ARBE Leadership Award is to recognize an ARBE member for outstanding leadership and service to the organization and the profession. The awardee will exemplify a commitment to promoting scholarship, leadership, and cooperation among professionals in education for business through leadership at the national level. Research Conference Best Paper Awards​ 

The Business Education Research Conference (BERC) is held each spring in conjunction with the convention of the National Business Education Association (NBEA). BERC is co-sponsored by ARBE and NABTE -- the National Association for Business Teacher Education -- and showcases exceptional research in education for and about research. Presentation proposals are due by October 1 each year, and a review panel determines the best papers in two categories: (1) empirical research and (2) innovative instructional practices.
